Graduate Courses

BiS631 Data Mining
Data mining is an essential discipline for various applications including biological big data analysis, precision medicine, and healthcare informatics. This course introduces essential data mining techniques including clustering, classification, association, and deep learning along with data preparation and performance evaluation. Students will challenge their own data mining applications as team projects so that they could consolidate their understanding of essential work elements of actual data mining.

BiS732 Bio-Network
Biological systems consist of elements and interactions. Networks are effective models to represent them and analyze their properties. This course covers the most recent and state-of-the-art network-based techniques to analyze biological systems in their molecular, cellular, physiological, neurological and cognitive perspectives.

Undergraduate Courses

BiS332 Bio-Information Processing
The focus of this course is to provide with fundamental and essential understanding of how computers work, and what kinds of computer science techniques are available for bio and brain engineering including biological big data analysis, precision medicine, and healthcare informatics. A biomedical information system for precision medicine will be designed and implemented for hands-on experiments.
